September 21st -30th 2019
Venny completed the group contract and submitted it to the group for reviewal. The group all edited and approved the document, you can see the group contract below. Venny took on the responsibility to be the contact person to our site. Venny contacted the site on the 29th to discuss days we might be able to visit and discuss with the host educators. Missy responded on the 30th and told us we could come visit any day at 3. We did not have physical meetings as we had scheduling conflicts but continued to have an open line of communication through Facebook chat.
October 5th-15th
Brianna completed a timeline for our project based on expectations and shared it with the group. As a group we discussed and picked a day that worked for all of use to meet the site. Venny emailed the site to ask if this day would work. The site responded and October 18th at 3 pm was decided on for our visit. Venny found the address and shared it with the group, we planned to meet in the parking lot ten minutes ahead of time. Brianna reminded the group to complete the nature readings to prepare for the visit.
October 18th
Today we met with the site and discussed some ideas with the educators about what they might like to see in their outdoor space. We were given some time to dream in the yard and came up with four main ideas. We discussed these with the site and planned to return with our vision board and further planning. Each individual would take the lead on one of the four projects to plan for the vision board meeting.
October 30th
We met together and shared our visions and dreams for each section of the project. Each individual brought photos of their ideas and had a plan on acquisition of materials. Brianna put all of the photos and things together to complete the vision board which can be seen below.
October 31st-November 5th
After discussion with our teacher we decided completing all four elements was dreaming a little too big with the amount of time we had been given and with the number of other things we had on our plate. We allowed the site to pick one and we would pick another to implement. Brianna took the board to the site and presented it to the educators. She engaged in dialogue with the site about their preferred projects. The group came to the conclusion that we were going to implement the climbing structure and the climbing circle.

November 6th-24th
Brianna completed the planning document and meeting minutes to be submitted after the group approved to both the site and our educator. Conversations were had about implementation dates and we awaited approval from the site and our educator based on our planning document. On the 20th we received approval and planned our implementation day. Venny offered the use of her truck and we planned to meet at Brianna’s Parents home to gather materials in the morning. Dianna planned to bring screws, and Venny and Bailey planned to retrieve the wire together. On the 24th we did final check ins to make sure everyone was still good to go for the next day.
November 25th
All group member agreed to meet at Brianna’s parents house to arrange our materials, cut the wood and begin to assemble and layout the structure. We all arrived at the meeting spot with the required materials to complete the project. Brianna supplied the wood, drill, saws. Maria brought wire and drove her truck that transferred our materials to the site. Dianna provided the screws that were required and brought a hammer. We all worked as a team to gather, cut and transfer the wood. As a group we drove to the site to implement our project, the climbing structure and climbing circle. When we arrived Brianna and Dianna went and talked to the supervisor and Maria and Bailey began to unload materials. The supervisor gave us the ok and we all began to collectively work together to transport the wood stumps, large and small tree branches and the required tools to the outdoor area. We took before pictures, then all four of us grabbed a large branch and built the climbing structure. Maria tied the wire around the top to secure the structure. Bailey and Dianna placed dirt around the bottom of the large branches to secure the structure. We worked together to cut the branches into smaller branches that fit onto the structure and worked together to hold the branches and drill the branches into the larger secure branches. We then placed a couple sitting stools inside of the climbing structure. Next, we began to implement the climbing circle we all gathered the wood stumps and arranged them into a circle. We worked together and added dirt around the wood stumps to secure them in place and then placed three tires in the middle of the circle. We all took pictures during the implementation of the project.
